Beyond pallets: 5 industrial applications where PolyAl quietly excels
From cable trays to acoustic panels — recycled PolyAl is showing up in places you might not expect.

Pallets get the headlines. But PolyAl's mechanical profile — moderate stiffness, excellent dimensional stability, full chemical resistance — works in plenty of other industrial niches.
1. Non-metallic cable trays
For non-electrical cable management in chemical plants, PolyAl resists most acids and bases that corrode galvanised steel. The aluminium load gives the rigidity needed for long unsupported spans.
2. Composting bin bodies
Seasoned outdoor exposure, contact with organic acids, no UV failure under pigment masterbatch. Cities running PAYT (pay-as-you-throw) systems are early adopters.
3. Acoustic panels for industrial halls
Mixed with foaming agents, PolyAl extrudes into closed-cell panels with respectable acoustic absorption. The recycled-content story sells the panels into LEED-certified buildings.
4. Geotechnical drainage profiles
Buried for 50+ years, exposed to soil chemistry. PolyAl outperforms recycled PP on long-term creep under load. Some Iberian highway projects have specified it since 2024.
5. Marina decking and fender boards
UV, salt water, repeated impact. The aluminium-loaded matrix takes hits without splintering. Cheaper than tropical hardwoods, more sustainable than virgin HDPE.
The pattern: anywhere you need outdoor durability without food contact, PolyAl is worth a sample run.
