Three grades, one stream

    PolyAl grades: unwashed, washed, pellet

The same polyethylene-aluminium material at three points of the same line. Buy it as raw flakes, washed and dried flakes, or as the ISCC PLUS certified pellet ready for injection and extrusion.

    From carton to pellet

    1. 01

      Carton waste

Post-consumer packaging collected and sent to a paper mill, where the fibre is recovered.

    2. 02

      Unwashed PolyAl

The remaining non-fibre fraction — polyethylene with aluminium — is shredded into flakes. Still carries fibre and product residue.

    3. 03

      Washed PolyAl

Flakes are washed and dried. Residue is removed and moisture drops, leaving a homogeneous flake ready for compounding.

    4. 04

      PolyAl pellet

Extruded, homogenised and pelletised into the finished grade with a stable MFI, ready for injection and extrusion.

    Unwashed PolyAl

The separated non-fibre fraction of post-consumer multilayer packaging, shredded into flakes and sold as it leaves the process — before washing, drying or pelletising.

    Washed PolyAl

The same polyethylene-aluminium material after washing and drying: clean, homogeneous flakes ready for compounding or for extrusion with process adjustment.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I buy PolyAl before it is pelletised?

    +

Yes. Unwashed and washed flakes are available in full batches by request. They are not produced under UNE 53925:2026 — that standard covers the finished pellet — so they are intended for buyers who complete the processing themselves.

What is the difference between unwashed and washed PolyAl?

    +

Unwashed flakes still carry paperboard fibre and product residue from the carton and have a high moisture content. Washed flakes have been through a washing and drying stage, so residue is removed, the material is visually homogeneous and moisture is much lower.

Is the aluminium content the same in all three grades?

    +

Yes, in practical terms. The aluminium comes from the barrier layer of the original carton and stays in the material at roughly ≈10% by mass through washing and pelletising.

Are there minimum order quantities for the intermediate grades?

    +

Yes. Unwashed and washed PolyAl are sold in full homogeneous batches rather than small samples, because separating partial lots breaks batch consistency. Contact us with your target volume and we will confirm availability.

    Which grade should I buy?

    +

If you injection-mould or extrude directly, buy the pellet: it is dry and has a stable melt flow index. If you run your own compounding line, washed flakes give you control over the formulation. Unwashed flakes only make sense if you have a washing line.
