How recycled PolyAl reduces your Scope 3 emissions

Switching feedstock is the highest-leverage decarbonisation move most plastic processors haven't made yet.

How recycled PolyAl reduces your Scope 3 emissions

Most plastic processors have already squeezed Scope 1 and 2. The factory runs on green electricity, machines are insulated, lighting is LED. The real carbon — sometimes 80% of it — sits upstream in Scope 3, in the polymer they buy.

    The number that matters

1 tonne of virgin HDPE ≈ 1.8 t CO₂ eq cradle-to-gate. 1 tonne of recycled PolyAl ≈ 0.4 t CO₂ eq. That is a 78% reduction per tonne of feedstock, before you optimise anything else.

What it looks like in your annual report

A processor consuming 2,000 t/year of virgin HDPE who switches half of it to PolyAl removes ~1,400 t CO₂ from their Scope 3 ledger. That is the equivalent of taking 300 cars off the road, every year, on a single procurement decision.

    And it is auditable

Each PolyAl batch ships with a technical sheet documenting feedstock origin, processing route and quantity. Your CSRD and SBTi auditors get the paper trail they need without you building anything custom.

    Frequently asked questions

Which Scope 3 category does PolyAl impact?

    +

Primarily Category 1 — purchased goods and services. Replacing virgin HDPE with PolyAl reduces the embodied emissions of bought polymer.

How is the saving documented for auditors?

    +

Per-batch technical sheet, chain of custody from carton recycler to pellet plant, and the UNE 53925:2026 conformity statement — sufficient for GHG Protocol and CSRD audits.

Can PolyAl be used in CSRD reporting?

    +

Yes. PolyAl's documented recycled origin and CO₂ savings feed directly into ESRS E1 climate disclosures and ESRS E5 resource-use indicators.
