For moulders & compounders

Recycled feedstock for injection moulders and PP compounders

If you mould rigid hollow parts — bins, crates, buckets, trays, caps, planters, urban furniture — recycled PolyAl gives you a lower-cost, documented post-consumer feedstock that dosing equipment handles like any other polyolefin. This page covers the parts it suits, how to dose it, and how to qualify it without disrupting production.

Saving = replaced volume × (your virgin price − PolyAl price). CO₂e uses ≈1.6 t avoided per tonne replacing virgin polyolefin. Indicative figures based on the values you enter.

You replace the virgin share, not the performance

Swapping virgin PE/PP for recycled PolyAl is a cost and recycled-content decision, not a downgrade. PolyAl is a single-source, post-consumer polyolefin — not mixed kerbside waste — with a stable composition batch after batch, so the parts you mould keep the mechanical behaviour your customers already approve. The aluminium fraction acts as a reinforcing filler: in rigid hollow parts it adds stiffness and dimensional stability rather than taking it away.

    Consistent, verified specification

MFI 2–4 g/10 min and density 950–1050 kg/m³, produced following UNE 53925:2026 and verified by independent laboratory testing on every homogeneous 60-tonne batch — the same input, run after run.

    Same process, same cycle

Melt and processing windows match the PE/PP you already run: no new moulds, dryers or extruders, no cycle-time penalty and no reformulation at the substitution level you choose.

    Durability where it counts

Impact resistance, stiffness and outdoor service life are validated in real production of bins, crates, urban furniture and pallets — applications that spend years outdoors under load.

    Only cosmetics change

The visible difference is colour freedom: PolyAl parts come out dark grey with fine metallic specks. In rigid, technical and pigmented parts that is irrelevant — which is exactly why these applications qualify first.

Prove it on your own line: request 20% off your first order, mould your real part and compare the results against your current virgin blend before committing to anything.

    Parts that qualify fastest

The material is dark and can show light speckle, so the business case is strongest where colour is functional rather than cosmetic and wall thickness is meaningful. In those parts the aluminium fraction behaves as a mineral filler, improving rigidity and dimensional stability.

    • Waste, recycling and composting bins; buckets and tubs
    • Logistics crates, totes, trays and dunnage or edge protectors
    • Caps, closures, plant pots and planters
    • Urban furniture: benches, litter bins and posts
    • Pallets and plastic boxes with declared recycled content

    Dosing and processing

Treat PolyAl as a percentage component of your existing polyolefin mix. Gravimetric or volumetric dosing both work; no pre-drying regime beyond your normal polyolefin practice is required. Because batches are homogeneous at 60 t, once the share is set the process window stays put.

Log part weight, shrinkage, cycle time and drop-test performance against your reference part. Most moulders find the limiting factor is cosmetic tolerance, not mechanics.

    • Dosing share defined by you, tuned with our technical support on your reference part
    • No screw, mould or dryer changes for percentage blends
    • Expect slightly higher stiffness from the aluminium fraction

    For PP compounders

Compounders use PolyAl as a recycled polyolefin component to hit recycled-content specifications in their own grades while lowering compound cost. Production following UNE 53925:2026 and batch documentation make the recycled share declarable downstream, which is what OEM customers request under PPWR.

    • Documented post-consumer share per batch for downstream declarations
    • 60 t homogeneous batches suited to compound recipes
    • EUR.1 origin: reduced or zero duty inside the EU

    Commercial terms and supply security

We supply more than 20,000 tonnes of ISCC PLUS certified recycled PolyAl per year, in Big Bags up to 1000 kg, with EUR.1 preferential EU origin. For converters who need volume certainty, batches can be scheduled ahead so the recycled share of your production is not exposed to spot availability.

    Frequently asked questions

Can PolyAl run on a standard injection line?

    +

Yes. With MFI 2–4 g/10 min and Vicat 90–100 °C it processes inside the window of common polyolefins, and percentage blends need no equipment change.

What share do moulders normally use?

    +

There is no fixed figure: the converter sets the share for the part and the process. Start on a reference part, validate shrinkage, part weight and drop tests, and we help you tune the dosing from your base resin and cycle.

Does the aluminium fraction cause problems?

    +

In rigid parts it behaves as a mineral filler: higher stiffness and better dimensional stability. It does mean the material is not intended for transparent or light-coloured cosmetic parts.

Can compounders declare the recycled content?

    +

Each batch is 100% post-consumer and produced following UNE 53925:2026, the specific standard for PolyAl, and ships with a certificate of analysis and full traceability to support downstream recycled-content declarations under PPWR.
